Tenderfoot Classic

Learn, Serve, Unplug

Experience Tenderfoot’s flagship program, a blend of summer camp and study abroad vibes, but for people of all ages and with no need for a passport. Groups of 6 – 8 move in for 7 days to learn skills for sustainable living, eat delicious, nutritious food, and relax together in a natural setting. With the guidance of our live-in staff, you’ll manage a garden, cook for each other, and work on sustainable design & building projects. Spend time in group discussion exploring how sustainability is relevant to your academic studies, profession, household, or community.

Meals & Lodging

Food is the center of every Tenderfoot experience. Meals are prepared by participants under the guidance of a chef. We use ingredients from our own organic garden and local farms as much as the season allows. Guests stay in double or quad bunk rooms and share two bathrooms. All linens, both bed and bath, are provided.

Recreation & Downtime

To end each day, we encourage you to embrace play and pure relaxation – without technology if you can stand it. Whether you want to be outside or indoors, we have lots of options for tech-free fun: hiking trails, a fire ring, swimming, pond floaties, floating dock, board games, card games, puzzles, hammocks, musical instruments, and books galore.
